A Honest to God Review of “ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY”

by Paolo Lozupone

Star Wars strikes back with it’s first anthology film, ”Rogue One”.

 Spoiler-free section

The movie is set in between episodes 3 and 4, thus in between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, and features the story of a band of rebels that will steal the famous Death Star plans we’ve heared about since 1977.

There is no Luke Skywalker, no Obi-Wan Kenobi and no Ashoka Tano, this story is not about an aspiring young man who wants to become a Jedi Knight and save the galaxy from the evil dark lords of the Sith. This story is about sacrifice, about loss, about regular people who unite on the battlefield to make the real difference.

*This review will now contain spoilers, so if you haven’t watched the film, then what the hell are you doing here?? Go to your nearest cinema watch it and then get back here!! *

I Was {Left} Untitled

Where will Man go

The day men fall to the ground ?

Everywhere is hunger ;

In the streets there is but dirt

Guarding silences and wind

Where once lay them the steps of men
Where will Man go

The moment the fumes hit?

And when the war will be done ?

And the spoils nothing but ash?

Them, the spoils

That once were children’s laughters
Where will Man go

When the bombsa break in

Eyes and houses, breaths and screams?

And though I’d like to say more,

I’ll be as quick as life :

Count to ten to end and, thirty to begin

The Lullaby of the Creatures: by Bruno Di Tillo

I forgot to mention

My lady in white

That the sounds that are whispered

Will never be sung;

Unexplained and impalpable and whispered

Are the snippering truths,

[Your silence will commence]

They’re the long line of lost,

Lost faces in winter;

They are the whispers

That through the shimmering night

Have been misplaced by the many summers

Of the Brown of your eyes.

Yet you murmur their name

And you’ve followed your terrors [through]

The clearing of the winter,

The line lost in winter

Was revealed by your name.

It is a lullaby which brings

Sanity to senses.

And it brings them back home.

They sizzle like bread on spikes,

On fire,

On the ground.

And as they’re burning, their faces find their eyes

Floating like cotton in plantations

With the workers taking a breath.

They smoke and you smile

Because although you don’t get to hear their voices,

You can now see the color of the many eyes

Solidifying

Every time you reveal them your name.

But the faces struggle with theirs of smiles

As they were once part of you

And every product disrespects its creator.

Internet the New World Order?

by Bruno Di Tillo

A small premise: this article may be viewed as somewhat of a borderline conspiracy theory, or the mantra of a man with a strong need for antipsychotics, but it’s main purpose is to illustrate a viewpoint that isn’t seldom made in my opinion. In the article I’ll merely limit myself to talk about a romanticized idea of the Web and its effects on the makings of the 20th century, without going into technical aspects. This is a very, very brief question I asked myself the other day, with all of the craziness that it follows. Its Imagination at its prime: wild, at times incoherent, at times borderline psychotic. My intent is to make you readers scandalized, contempt, or any other feeling; the importance that is being stressed is that I would like you to think and comment.

Thus, my question for you readers is the following. If Nations were initially constituted as such to encircle populations that shared either a language, a common culture, a geographic identity, or simply political ensigns, then is the Internet disrupting such emphasis? What has the internet done to our concept of mortality? What is the Internet’s relationship to us? And most importantly, is our new age the age were we finally end the search for immortality?

The World Wide Web seems to provide the common Joe with a kind of power that is unprecedented in History: being able to project one’s voice into a universe totally obscured from reality as we know it. Continue reading “Internet the New World Order?”

On the 8th of November, Donald J Trump secured the 270 electoral college votes needed to clinch the presidency. By 9pm, Trump overtook the 300 delegate vote allowing for a statewide landslide victory. 50% of Obama’s 2012 “blue states” turned deep red over the course of 4 years. Traditional blue states such as Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania flipped party overnight. The question the world is now asking the US, is how such a controversial figure could become the leader of the most powerful nation on the globe? Here are 5 points that outline the reasons why he grabbed over 60 million American voters and over 60% of the electoral college. Continue reading “TRUMPED: “Understanding how Donald J.
